SCHREINERS FLOWER SHOW

Not only did they have a gorgeous garden; they had cut flowers for sale and for exhibit so you could browse and place your order for after the season...oh, and if that wasn't enough temptation they also have potted plants ready to go in the garden at home. Oh dear very very dangerous!!! George bought some poppies, foxglove, lupine, suprisingly enough he didn't buy an iris....this time..we do have plans to go back so all bets are off for that day. So here are some of the cut flowers they had out to tempt and/or inspire the soul.

SCHREINERS IRIS GARDENS

WOW!!! This place is amazing! Our day trip on friday was to the Iris gardens it was the first day of the season and it was impressive. We decided that we need to come back in a week or two to get the full effect as only a third of the flowers were blooming but still MOST impressive.

The day started out a bit gloomy but by the time we were done at the gardens not only was the sun out but we were so inspired we went and bought some more plants and played in the yard for the rest of the day and a good part of Saturday.

We took lots of pictures too many to show here in this post but if you look at the slide show at the top right corner of the screen you can see the rest of the stuff i couldn't fit in here & i'm adding the link so if you click on schreiners gardens on the right side under links you'll go right to their web site. They have the most amazing irises. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

george's vacation?

we all know how hard George works year in and year out.. well, he FINALLY was able to take a much deserved vacation (?). Since the weather didn't cooperate as well as he had hoped he did get to have some down time before tackling the projects he wanted to get to.... So.... here he is at his first vacation task - new hardware for the kitchen cupboards. Once this task was completed he moved outside......

I really have to keep a close eye on him when he's out here with the mower or weed eater. He thinks everything is a weed!

we did get two new trees one is a mountain liliac that has the most unusual flowers and the other is a Japenese maple that George has wanted for a long time. George digs the holes and I go along behind plopping the plants in. It's a pretty good system.

debbi's creations

thought i'd share a pic of my latest "creation" it's a baby blanket i did for one of George's buddies at work they had a little boy so i whipped this blue creation out.

it's not only an unusual design but it's also a fun and fairly easy pattern to do(except i usually mess up the begining and have to restart it!)but i love to make it even if it takes a few attempts to get it right. the first one of these i did was for the grandbaby Rylee only of course hers was in rock star pink!

breakfast at our house

so i was outside this morning and i heard something munching away and when i went to investigate this what i found......

this little guy having his breakfast out on our front porch.

which also explains the digging i've noticed in some of my flower pots on the porch!

He wasn't alone one of his little buddies was taking his breakfast under the bird feeder, sometimes it's hard to believe we live in the city with all the critters running around our house!

HE'S BACK!!!

Well, Bandit's friend came back for a visit and Bandit greeted him once again by chasing him up the walnut tree. This is becoming a disturbing reoccurence, i just hope it doesn't end like Where the Red Fern Grows!
